Part of the Calamian Group of Islands, Culion is seldom visited. It was stripped of timber during the war. It was once the world’s largest leper colony. It was also left alone to survive. The waters, islands, and mangroves surrounding Culion are amazing to paddle with. The occasional dugong, the variety of sights and people one meet, plus the knowing that you are one of the few who venture here… it all makes for a great sea kayaking destination.
